David Dimitri is internationally recognized for his unique style of danzasul tightrope. The combination of an education at the State Academy for Circus Arts in Budapest with studies of intensive dance at the renowned Juilliard School in New York, David Dimitri has created virtuous choreography on the wire which was shown in circuses, festivals and concert halls worldwide – Cirque du Solei, Big Apple Circus in New York, the Swiss national Circus Knie, and the Metropolitan Opera House under the direction of Jean-Pierre Ponelle, to name a few. In 2001, David Dimitri career has taken a new dimension. With the help of his father, the famous Swiss clown Dimitri, he created his first one-man show, a sparkling presentation of Nouveau Cirque, both intimate and engaging, performed in a traveling circus tent designed and built for the production. David Dimitri has been a guest artist at such prominent festivals such as Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, South Carolina; Lincoln Center Festival in New York; Just pour Rire, Montreal, Jeux de Piste, Strasbourg, and the Avignon Festival. David Dimitri has also performed on Broadway, the New Victory Theater.
